Study Sites of the CASEST project

Three areas are being studied in this project: Zone Atelier CNRS Hwange (Zimbabwe), Garden route Biosphere reserve (South Africa) and PELD Planalto da serré da Bodoquena (Brazil).

Each zone allows to observe and experiment, in the long term, the complex interrelations between a protected area and its periphery, which is highly transformed by agricultural activities. In these highly constrained territories, a conceptual and experimental revisiting of the human/natural relationship is crucial for proposing more sustainable public policies.
