Garden route Biosphere reserve

Picture-Garden Route @PC. Renaud

The Garden Route Biosphere Reserve is one of several landscape initiatives in the Cape Floristic Region. It aims to conserve and restore the unique biodiversity and sense of place in the Garden Route, while supporting the sustainable management of the region and the delivery of benefits to local communities. Through the initiative, partner organisations – including government departments, conservation agencies, non-governmental organisations and community groups – can co-ordinate and align their activities around a common set of objectives.
